223 Rem Match chamber I built years ago to see how much performance we could get out of a fully gone through Remington 700 action. Throat in the reamer is a .169 freebore for running the big heavy bullets like 75-80gr but also shoots the 55s just fine.  

Around 400-500 rounds on the barrel. Was shooting the 75eldm very well. 

Action was an experiment to see how much we could improve a Rem 700. I no longer work on non custom actions but when I was charging for this all the action work would be in excess of $1500 of labor.

It's obvious why I stopped working on factory actions as you can now buy a Budget custom action for $1000-1200. I am throwing all the labor in for free on this action. 

Price is based off a Rem 700 action, timney trigger, barrel, recoil lug, bolt knob and labor to chamber, thread, crown, and cal mark the barrel. 

Action work: 

  • Blueprinted threads and lug seats
  • Bolt lugs trued up  
  • Ignition was tuned to eliminate pin binding 
  • New firing pin installed
  • Firing pin hole bushed to straighten and fully capture and guide a .060 Firing pin tip
  • Timed to a Timney Hit trigger
  • Re-cut cocking ramp in increase pin fall and be able to eliminate cock on close
  • Bolt body bushings installed to increase bolt diameter and tighten up bolt play in action bore
  • PTG precision ground recoil lug pinned to action 
  • Bolt knob threaded and an Area 419 bolt knob blended to the handle
